Limited scope retainers allow clients to hire a lawyer for specific tasks—such as drafting documents, reviewing agreements, or providing coaching—rather than full representation. This approach keeps costs lower and gives clients more control over their matter.
Clients begin by submitting an inquiry or booking a consultation online. After assessing the issue, the lawyer confirms whether limited scope representation is suitable and provides a retainer agreement outlining the tasks, fees, and timelines.
Services include drafting and reviewing family law agreements, preparing Small Claims Court documents, drafting demand letters, legal coaching, and negotiation assistance—all delivered remotely.
Most services are billed at a flat rate for defined tasks. Some matters may be billed hourly if ongoing negotiation or communication is required. Payment is due upfront before work begins, with all disbursements clearly disclosed.
Turnaround time depends on complexity and client responsiveness. Simple demand letters are typically completed within 1–3 business days, while more detailed agreements or court applications may take up to a week or longer once all information is received.
Clients should provide all relevant documents, communication records, key dates or deadlines, and a summary of desired outcomes. Identity verification and signed engagement documents are required before work begins.
If new issues arise beyond the agreed scope, the lawyer will discuss next steps and, if appropriate, amend the retainer. No additional work proceeds without client approval.

Disbursements are out-of-pocket expenses incurred during your matter, such as court filing fees, courier costs, document certification, printing, and registration fees. These costs are billed separately from professional legal fees and will always be disclosed in advance.
